About DSP TV Online

DSP TV Online is a video-sharing contest created to spotlight America's direct support workforce. Participants are encouraged to be creative in sharing stories about the direct support workforce and are welcome to highlight any aspect about the critical daily supports these workers provide people with disabilities. DSP TV Online wants to air it all - the successes and the challenges - and channels have been created to satisfy a variety of subject matters.

About the DSP TV Online Channels

When submitting a video to DSP TV Online, you must pick one of five channels to submit it to. The channel descriptions are below and the channel you choose is up to you but DSP TV Online reserves the right to move your video to a different channel.

The Music & Comedy Channel

The Music and Comedy Channel is the place to showcase your music or comedy skills. Put your thoughts about DSPs to music--a song, rap or musical skit will do--or share a funny DSP anecdote or create a funny DSP-related skit. This is the channel for you if you love to entertain.

The Healthy Living Channel

The Healthy Living Channel is the channel for you to showcase some of the specific things DSP's do to make life better for people with disabilities. If you've got a story about something specific a DSP did to broaden someone's independence or improve their quality of life, here's the place to share it.

The Family Channel

The Family Channel is the place for families to talk about what DSPs have meant to them. Don't miss your chance to tell the world the difference DSP's make for millions of American families every day.

The Self-Advocate Channel

The Self-Advocate Channel is the place for those receiving supports from DSPs to share their stories. What have DSPs meant to your daily life? How does turnover (getting a new DSP) impact your life? What role do DSPs play in your every day life? This is your channel to answer those questions and much more.

The Reality Channel

The Reality Channel is your channel to keep it real. Whether you want to do a TV-news style report, want to just talk to the camera or just think your entry doesn't fit one of the other channels, this is the channel for you. The Reality Channel will take it all, just keep it clean and keep it real.

Prizes for Best Videos

DSP TV Online will award one winner per category at the end of judging. Winners from each category will be announced in July 2008, and each category winner will receive a $500 prize.

A single grand prize winner will be selected among entries from the five designated categories and will be eligible to receive $1000 and hotel and travel expenses paid to the DSP to DC hosted by ANCOR in September 2008. All winners will be recognized at the DSP to DC event.

Eligibility

DSP TV Online is open to everyone and DSP TV Online encourages DSPs, people with disabilities, families, supporters of people with disabilities and DSPs and any others with something to say about the direct support workforce to participate. Participants can submit no more than one entry per category per month.

Video Requirements

All submissions must be no longer than five minutes, must be appropriate for all audiences and everyone appearing in the video must give their consent to participate. DSP TV Online reserves the right to reject any inappropriate videos and will inform the submitter of any such decision.

Video Publishing

Once a video has been submitted to DSP TV Online, it will not be published on DSP TV Online's Web site until it has been screened and judged by DSP TV Online staff.

DSP TV Online Judging

All DSP TV Online video submissions will be judged and scored by DSP TV Online staff. The DSP TV Online will combine its scoring with DSP TV Online viewer feedback to select its winners. If during judging DSP TV Online staff does not believe the video category chosen by the entrant is suitable, DSP TV Online reserves the right to move your video to a different category. Further, DSP TV Online reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not meet criteria described in the Rules and Regulations or in any way discredits the purpose and intent of this contest.
